Learn to Row
Llandaff Rowing Club’s Learn to Row course introduces non-rowers to the sport in a friendly and encouraging environment.
The Learn to Row course runs throughout the year, once we have 16 applicants per course. Participants will learn basic rowing technique, the importance of manoeuvring a boat and develop their confidence in a single scull. They will also have the opportunity to sit in a coxed four training boat known as a 'tubbie' boat, where 'sweep oar' rowing is taught.
Individuals taking part in the Learn to Row course are encouraged to immerse themselves in Club life, joining in Club land training sessions during the week and socialising with members in the Club bar.
As a non-rower, you cannot join Llandaff Rowing Club as a full member until you have completed the Learn to Row course. Courses are held generally on a Sunday afternoon during winter or a Wednesday evening during Spring/Summer. The courses run over 9 hours of coaching.
