Llandaff RC members worked hard over the weekend to make the regatta such a great success. The largest entry for many years, and we received some extremely positive feedback from many clubs.
The umpires have all commented very favourably on the support they received, the “Parents” catering team did a brilliant job, and the crews were expertly marshalled, both on the stage and on the water. The Control tent was the nerve centre of the whole operation and we are truly grateful to all umpires who worked most of the weekend.
The generosity of Cardiff Metropolitan University has been outstanding, and it was a privilege to host them on Saturday and to have them officially name the club’s new Eight/Octople. This is the start of a long relationship, and we hope to be able to grow our association with them for our mutual benefit.
The club spirit we are building was very evident, everyone pitched in to help, and at one point I wondered if we would actually finish the Sunday presentation before the tent was packed away around our ears. It was great to see Juniors, Seniors and Masters all supporting each other.
We had some superb wins, with ten wins on the Saturday’s Regatta and eleven wins on the Sunday’s Sprint and every single Llandaff crew raced with pride and commitment.
