Euromasters Championships

In keeping with Llandaff Rowing Club’s long tradition of supporting Masters Rowing, three of our more experienced and intrepid members represented LRC in the Euromasters Championships in Munich over the weekend 26th and 27th July. Those rising to the challenge were a MF2x of Club President Gary Brace, and Chair of the Regatta Comittee David Simmonds. Not content with just racing in one event, Gary doubled up with Dawn Brace in Mixed D2x.

Whilst not troubling those dispensing the medals, the crews were in the pack for both finals, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. David commented “Racing at European Masters level was easy compared to running our regatta!”

Former LRC President (and still a Vice President) Steven Denley Hill  organised the use of Ardingly Rowing Club boats for our crews, and we would like to record our thanks to him and Ardingley Rowing club for this. Steven narrowly missed out on the gold medal in his double by 0.07 seconds, maintaining his impressive run at European and World Masters regattas, for both Ardingley and Llandaff.
