Wins for the Girls at Avon County Head

It was a good day for the Junior girls at Avon County Head on Saturday 2nd March 2013, where 3 crews won their event.

In the first division over the shorter course, Izzy Peters and Hetty Palmer (stroke) won the WJ14 2x comfortably, at a time of 6.21.2 and not only did they perform well, but they beat all the boys racing in the same age group.

Izzy Peters and Hetty Palmer were later joined by team mates, Alys Howells and Harriet Williams in the WJ14 4x+ coxed by Beth Smith, racing in the third divison on the shorter course at a time of 6.33.2.

Over the longer course in a WN4+ Marie Crotty, (stroke), Bethan Roberts (3), Jessica Evans (2) and Rachel Evans (bow), coxed by Melissa Latham, won in a time of 13.57.3.

On Friday 8th March, some of the Junior squad will be racing at the Junior Scullers Head, Dorney Lake, where Izzy, Hetty, Alys and Harriet along with Beth Smith will be competing in the WJ144x+ again. With them, is the 2nd WJ144x+ crew, Amy Thomas, Elin Crotty, Cerys Stamp and Hannah Pinnell, who came 3rd at the Avon County Head over 15 other crews.

Also competing at the Scullers Head with the girls, are the J154x+ crew, Ollie Shore, Caleb Docking, Dylan Palmer and Joe Miles.
